Our HollowPin construction is lighter and stronger than a solid pin, and cutouts in the outer and inner plates drop 13 g from the previous generation. Q: Will this chain work with my 12-speed drivetrain? A: This chain is specifically designed for SRAM RED eTap AXS and Force eTap AXS 12-speed road drivetrains. It will NOT work with Shimano, Campagnolo, or SRAM Eagle mountain bike 12-speed systems due to the unique Flattop design and spacing requirements.

Q: How is this chain 13g lighter than the previous RED chain? A: Weight savings come from the super-light outer plates with cut-out design and advanced HollowPin construction. Despite being lighter, it's actually stronger and more durable thanks to the Flattop technology and hard chrome plating on critical wear surfaces.

Q: How many links do I need - 114 or 126? A: Road bikes typically use 114 links for standard setups. The 126-link option is for bikes with longer chainstays, larger cassettes, or specific frame geometries. Measure your old chain or consult SRAM's sizing guide for your specific setup.

Q: Can I use a standard PowerLock connector with this chain? A: No, you must use the PowerLock D1 connector that's specifically designed for Flattop chains. Standard PowerLock connectors won't work with the unique Flattop profile. The correct PowerLock D1 is included with the chain.
