FAQ

Q: Is this chain compatible with my 9-speed drivetrain?
A: Yes, the KMC X9 works with all major 9-speed systems including Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo for both road and mountain bikes.

Q: How many links does this chain have?
A: This chain comes with the standard length for 9-speed systems (typically 114-116 links), which fits most bikes. You can remove excess links to fit your specific setup if needed.

Q: What's the difference between the silver/grey and other finishes?
A: The silver/grey two-tone finish offers a classic aesthetic while providing the same reliable performance and corrosion resistance as other X9 variants. The choice is primarily based on your preferred look.

Q: How often should I replace my chain?
A: Chain replacement depends on riding conditions and maintenance. Use a chain checker tool regularly - replace when wear reaches 0.75% for 9-speed systems to prevent drivetrain damage.

Q: Do I need special tools to install this chain?
A: You'll need a chain tool compatible with 9-speed chains. KMC chains typically use a master link (sold separately or included depending on version) for easier installation and removal.
