FAQ
Q: How does the sensor technology work on the Helix Sense? A: The Helix Sense features intelligent ambient light and motion sensors that automatically control the light. The ambient light sensor detects when it gets dark (such as entering a tunnel, dusk, or night riding) and turns the light on automatically. The motion sensor detects when you're riding and can activate the light, then turn it off when you're stationary for a period of time. This ensures you're always visible when needed without having to manually switch the light on and off.
Q: How long does the battery last and how do I charge it? A: Battery runtime depends on the mode selected—higher output modes like steady 150 lumens will drain the battery faster than lower-power flash modes. Typical runtimes range from 1-2 hours on maximum steady output to 10+ hours on eco flash modes (check the specifications for exact times). The light charges via USB cable (usually included), and you can plug it into any USB port on a computer, wall adapter, or power bank. A full charge typically takes 2-4 hours.
Q: Is 150 lumens bright enough for a rear light? A: Yes, 150 lumens is exceptionally bright for a rear light and provides excellent visibility in all conditions. Most rear lights range from 10-100 lumens, so 150 lumens puts the Helix Sense in the high-output category. This brightness is particularly useful for daytime visibility, riding in traffic, poor weather conditions, and ensuring you're seen from long distances. It's more than adequate for road cycling, commuting, and even off-road riding.
Q: Is the light waterproof and can I use it in the rain? A: Yes, the Moon Helix Sense is designed to be weather-resistant and can withstand rain, road spray, and wet conditions. Most bike lights are rated to IPX4 or higher, meaning they're protected against water splashing from any direction. You can confidently use it for commuting and riding in all weather conditions. However, avoid submerging the light in water or using a high-pressure washer directly on it.
Q: How do I mount the Helix Sense to my bike? A: The Moon Helix Sense typically comes with a versatile mounting bracket that attaches to your seatpost, seat stays, or rear rack using a rubber strap or quick-release mechanism. The light clips into the bracket for secure attachment and can be easily removed when parking your bike or for charging. The mounting system is tool-free and adjustable to fit different diameter tubes, making it compatible with most bikes and easy to transfer between bikes.
